It is Week 15 of the NFL season and likely week one of the playoffs. If you are still alive, congratulations as now we look at the playoffs one week at a time. Hopefully, I can help identify some players who might help push you along to the next round. Before we dive into some of the sleepers for this week, let’s recap our picks from last week and discuss what to do with these guys moving forward.
At quarterback, Taylor Heinicke’s streak of decent fantasy production ended in disappointment this last week as he finished as the QB27 on the week. Heinicke had a decent matchup, but the Cowboys’ defense appeared to be too much for him to handle and he eventually left the game with an injury. We will need to monitor his injury, but hopefully, you will not have to resort back to streaming him throughout your fantasy playoffs.
At running back, D’Onta Foreman had a decent week last week after rushing 13 times for 47 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 15 yards. He finished the week as the RB14 and should continue to see the majority of the touches out of the backfield. I would likely continue to monitor the matchups he has to determine if you want to start him. His touchdown likely saved his performance on the week, but he’s definitely worth holding on to moving forward.
At wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown had a decent week and finished as the WR34 with 11.3 half-PPR points. He saw 12 targets once again and caught 8 of them for 74 yards. He was likely a beneficiary of the Detroits being short-handed on offense but still should remain on your radar as a possible flex option especially in full PPR formats. Gage had a bit of a down week off of his week 13 performance and managed to finish as the WR46. He still saw 6 targets and caught 4 of them for 64 yards. Think he’s worth holding onto still and has potential for bigger games, but those may be difficult to predict.
At tight end, Jared Cook saved the day with a touchdown grab as he only had 2 receptions for 8 yards on the week. However, this still led to him being TE11 on the week. Essentially a touchdown is what you were hoping for from Cook so he likely didn’t kill you this week if you were streaming. He’s one you can likely drop back to waivers and explore some other streaming options.
As mentioned before, I will utilize several factors when exploring who my weekly sleepers will be. I will be looking at ADP (Fantasypros.com ADP), weekly positional rankings (Fantasypros.com ECR), rostership percentages, and some betting info (to help give perspective on possible outcomes). When referencing scoring in these articles this season I will be looking at Half-PPR scoring and in terms of league size, I will stick with 12-team leagues.
Quarterbacks: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 15
Jimmy Garoppolo (QB, SF) vs. Atlanta Falcons
Garoppolo has put together a decent stretch of fantasy football production and since week 7 is the QB6 in that timespan with 17.1 fantasy points per game. He enters week 15 as the ECR QB16 as he faces off against the Atlanta Falcons. Garoppolo looks to continue the streak against the Falcons defense who is averaging 24.5 points allowed and 247.5 passing yards per game. The 49ers have also had to rely on Garoppolo a little more with a banged-up running back group. He’s a decent streaming option this week as he looks to crack the top twelve once again.
Running Backs: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 15
Craig Reynolds (RB, DET) vs. Arizona Cardinals
Reynolds was an unknown heading into last week due to injuries and COVID but found a path to 11-83 on the ground and 2-16 through the air. He enters this week as the ECR RB 43 and should have some flex appeal if he gets the same sort of usage. It’s highly possible one of the other running backs somehow gets the work this week, but if you’re hurting due to injuries you can look Reynolds way.
Wide Receivers: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 15
K.J. Osborn (WR, MIN) at Chicago Bears
Osborne has done his best to step up in the offense while Adam Thielen deals with his injury. Entering week 15 he is listed as the ECR WR40 and as long as Theilen is out I would be interested in starting Osborn. In the past two weeks, Osborn has had 4-47-1 and 3-83-1 stat lines while also seeing at least 7 targets (7 in week 13 and 9 in week 14). He should continue to see the targets in this matchup with Thielen out and the Bears have also been able to score more recently so this matchup should be able to produce some decent fantasy scoring.
Tight Ends: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 15
Ricky Seals-Jones (TE, WFT) at Philadelphia Eagles
Seals-Jones is on the riskier side of the sleeper range this week and didn’t manage to do much last week as he saw just 4 targets and caught 1 of them for 8 yards. However, he gets a matchup against the Eagles this week who are giving up the most points to the tight end position. Washington may also be without Terry McLaurin in this matchup so someone will need to step up this week. He’s on the sleeper radar as he enters the week as the ECR TE17, but brings the potential for a bust game. So if you can stomach that possibility in the playoffs you could roll with him, if not you might want to explore your options elsewhere.
