Week 1 was filled with surprises and one could even say, some “Fitzmagic.” Overall, it was an incredibly high-scoring week that was largely a result of great bargains paying off like DeSean Jackson and Kenny Stills. This week we will be discussing Week 2 DraftKings plays that could potentially win you guys some GPP’s, so let’s get into it.

Week 2 DraftKings Plays
Tyrod Taylor (QB, CLE, $5900)
Tyrod Taylor went 15 for 40 passing last week with only one touchdown and one interception, but still managed to score 24.6 DK points. How, you ask? HIS LEGS! Taylor will not only need to throw a ton against the incredibly high-powered Saints offense but run a lot as well. Taylor will have to do anything he can to keep the Saints offense on the sidelines. Tyrod might be one of the more highly-owned Week 2 DraftKings plays but he could still help you in a GPP.
Alex Smith (QB, WAS, $6000)
Alex Smith picked up right where he left off last season with a solid 255 yards and 2 touchdowns. What people seem to forget about that stat line is his 14 rushing yards. These yards aren’t that significant until you see that he ran the ball a whopping 8 times. He should have plenty of success against a decimated Colts defense and provide DK players with a huge return on value.
T.J. Yeldon (RB, JAC, $5600)
Even if Leonard Fournette plays, he will certainly be limited. Insert T.J. Yeldon with a mouthwatering matchup and you have a great GPP play. The Patriots were atrocious against pass-catching backs last year and are also an easy defense to run on. The Jaguars will be leaning on the run in the beginning of the game and once the Patriots have the lead — somehow they get one every game — Bortles will have to throw to a shaky group of receivers. Bortles will dump the ball to Yeldon a bunch in this game, providing a nice floor for Yeldon, even if Fournette suits up.
Dion Lewis (RB, TEN, $5000)
I absolutely love Dion Lewis in this spot. Houston has a good front seven and will mostly focus on stopping Derrick Henry. Lewis won’t be affected as much, as he will be utilized in the passing game a ton. With Mariota looking like a game-time decision, this will be a dink and dunk kind of day for Lewis, as they will need to move the ball efficiently to keep the Deshaun Watson led Texans offense off of the field.
Kenny Golladay (WR, DET, $4800)
One of the only bright spots in that ugly home opener was Kenny Golladay. He caught 7 of 12 targets for 114 yards. This week he will see an improved but still beatable 49ers defense. He will most likely be a target monster again this week as this game is looking like a potential shootout.
Zay Jones (WR, BUF, $3800)
I get it the Bills sucked last week and, actually, I think they will suck again this week. All of that being said, the Chargers should come out blazing in this game and build a comfortable lead. The Bills will be needing to throw the ball all game and with Kelvin Benjamin most likely being covered by Casey Hayward, Zay Jones is the only somewhat proven WR on that team. Josh Allen loves to take his speed shots and Zay will certainly be on the receiving end of one of those. This is an extremely risky play, as Zay could potentially score less than 5 points, but the upside is there.
George Kittle (TE, SF, $3800)
While there’s a good chance he ends up the most-owned player on this list (and rightfully so), George Kittle comes in with a mouthwatering matchup. Marquise Goodwin is out and although I like Dante Pettis this week, Kittle will surely receive close to the 9 targets he had last week. He could very well be the top tight end play this week when it’s all said and done.
Ricky Seals-Jones (TE, ARI, $2900)
Besides Fitzgerald, the Cardinals have pretty much no one to throw the ball to who isn’t named David Johnson. The Rams should go up big early in this contest, which will force the Cardinals to air it out. Just from a target standpoint, there’s a lot to like about Ricky Seals-Jones, even in this somewhat daunting matchup. He is a big body with end zone potential for less than $3000 dollars on DK. That sounds good to me.
New York Jets (DST, $2500)
A defense that just helped Matthew Stafford throw four interceptions should not be $2500 dollars. The Jets are at home this week in a classic rivalry matchup and should come out with hungry to prove the doubters wrong.
