The following players are primed for success in Week 4, and won’t cost you much in DraftKings or FanDuel.
Week 4 DFS Value Plays
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4, and Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins offense will be tasked to keep pace with MVP caliber play from opposing quarterback, Russell Wilson.
Headed into Week 4, the Seahawks have major question marks in their secondary. Superstar safety Jamal Adams (groin) is unlikely to play, starting nickel DB Marquise Blair is done for the season with an ACL injury, and starting cornerback Quinton Dunbar (knee) is questionable to play Week 4. The injuries don’t stop with the secondary as the Seahawks are without top pass rusher Bruce Irvin, and could be without starting linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee).
The need to score with the most explosive offense in the NFL and a vulnerable opposing defense point to Fitzpatrick having one of his classic games; four touchdowns or four turnovers. Chasing the Fitzmagic dragon is always a dangerous game to play, but Fitzpatrick IS the ultimate streaming candidate, and with a curiously close betting line of Seattle -6.5, this is going to be one of the better weeks to go down that road.
Draft Kings price: $5,400. Fanduel Price: $7,100.
Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots
The Patriots would probably prefer to run more than pass in this week’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, but it simply might not be possible.
The Chiefs secondary, although bolstered by All-Pro play from safety Tyrann Mathieu, is vulnerable. they lost cornerback Bashaud Breeland for the first four weeks of the season, and are will be without starting cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. Third-year player Charvious Ward, and second-year player Rashad Fenton as the Chiefs starting cornerbacks.
Edelman certainly has something left in the tank, highlighted by a career-high performance in receiving yards, Week 2 against the Seahawks. Even if the Patriots are able to stay on script, the veteran Edelman should be able to take advantage of the young and inexperienced Chiefs corners and rebound after a quiet Week 3.
Draft Kings price: $5,700. Fanduel Price: $6,400
Kenny Golladay, WR, Detroit Lions
Golladay returned from injury Week 3 to produce a 56-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Headed into a Week 4 matchup versus a depleted New Orleans Saints, Golladay and the Lions are fighting for a .500 record and their future postseason lives.
Catching the Saints at home, and without six starters (including starting CB’s Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins), gives the middling Lions a real chance for a victory. Golladay will continue to serve as the Lions number one receiving option and should build upon his Week 3 debut facing backup cornerbacks in Week 4.
Draft Kings price: $6,000. Fanduel Price: $7,300
DJ Chark, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
After missing Week 3’s Thursday night showdown with a chest and back injury, Chark does not carry an injury designation into the Jaguars Week 4 matchup with the Benagls.
The 0-2-1 Bengals should be a good opportunity for Chark to get 2020 back on track. The Bengals have held opposing WRs in check from a fantasy perspective, ranking 6th over the seasons first three weeks. However, they have also benefitted from facing Tyrod Taylor, the run-heavy Cleveland Browns, and an inept Carson Wentz.
Chark and the Jaguars got an extra three days this week to prepare, and have a very winnable game to get their season back on track to 2-2. Chark, as stated at 100%, should be heavily involved from start to finish.
Draft Kings price: $6,000. Fanduel Price: $6,800
Week 4 DFS: Deep Sleepers
Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Chicago Bears
Down Tarik Cohen to a torn ACL, the Bears will need to replace one of the more versatile and explosive players on their offense. Patterson, utilized as a running back, wide receiver, and return specialist in the NFL, should be an ideal candidate to recreate what Cohen brought to the table offensively for the Bears. Already utilized more in 2020 than 2019, Patterson should see an increase in touches week four.
Draft Kings price: $3,700. Fanduel price: $4,700
Sony Michel, RB, New England Patriots
After a sluggish first two weeks, Michel stepped up for 117 rushing yards on nine carries against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. Headed into a Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Patriots will do all they can to keep Patrick Mahomes II and the Chiefs offense off the field.
The Chiefs run defense has been exposable allowing 183 rushing yards to the Los Angeles Chargers and 158 rushing yards to the Baltimore Ravens, so look for the Patriots to grind clock and keep the ball on the ground. It is notoriously difficult to predict usage rates amongst Patriot running backs, but what’s the point of fantasy football if not to prove that you’re better at knowing football than your friends? That’s right. Nothing. Michel has a season-high in carries, rush yards, and finds the end-zone.
Draft Kings price: $4,600. Fanduel Price: $5,600
