Week 4 DraftKings Cash Game Plays: Below I will be giving the best values in cash games at each position on the DraftKings main slate. The players described give you the ability to lock up some of the more expensive options this week.
Quarterback: Andy Dalton (CIN, $5400)
Dalton comes in playing against the Falcons’ 29th-ranked pass defense, which has allowed both Cam Newton and Drew Brees to throw over 300 yards and 3 TD’s. They have lost a few key pieces already in starting safeties Keanu Reeves, Ricardo Allen and linebacker Deion Jones. Dalton is 7th in attempts and 6th in air yards this season and will have to continue airing it out in the highest over-under on the main slate.
Other values: Russell Wilson (SEA, $5600)
Running Back: Sony Michel (NE, $4500), Marshawn Lynch (OAK, $4600)
Sony Michel: The Patriots’ running backs are looking very thin with the loss of Rex Burkhead. James Develin and Kenjon Barner are there mostly for special-teams, so look for Sonny Michel and James White to carry the load for the Patriots this week. In his first two games ever and coming off knee surgery, Michel has received 5 red-zone carries and 5 targets. The Patriots are predicted to score 27 points by Vegas, and Michel should be a significant part of that as their goal-line back. Don’t forget that Michel is a capable receiver, as he was used in a pass-catching role at Georgia with Nick Chubb.
Marshawn Lynch: For a running back who supposedly is only in on running plays, Lynch is 18th in snap percentage over the last two weeks. He is averaging almost 5 red-zone touches a game (3rd best in the league, per playerprofiler.com). The Browns have let James Conner, Alvin Kamara and Isaiah Crowell score 7 TD’s against them in 3 weeks. He should be penciled in for a TD or two.
Other values: Lamar Miller (HOU, $5600), Carlos Hyde (CLE, $5500)
Wide Receiver: Sterling Shepard (NYG, $4900), Allen Robinson (CHI, $5900)
Sterling Shepard: With Patrick Robinson done for the year, Shepard will likely be facing off against Ken Crawley or P.J. Williams when playing the Saints this week. Crawley is the 114th ranked cornerback according to playerprofiler.com. He was benched after getting burnt by DeSean Jackson and Antonio Callaway in back-to-back weeks. Williams got the start in Week 3, but he was also benched after Calvin Ridley exploded for 2 TD’s in the first half. Evan Engram is out, which means more targets for the crafty No. 2 receiver for New York.
Allen Robinson: Another WR with a great matchup, Robinson faces off against Brent Grimes and the struggling Tampa Bay secondary. Grimes is the 113th ranked cornerback according to playerprofiler.com. He is playing against a Tampa Bay team that is averaging 34 points-per-game, which has forced opposing offenses to throw the ball 43 times per game. This looks great for a WR with a 27% target share (13th) and 155 air yards (20th). Mitch Trubisky has also only thrown 2 TD’s this year.
Other values: Tyler Boyd (CIN, $4600), Mike Williams (LAC, $4500)
Tight End: Austin Hooper (ATL, $2900)
Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley have tough matchups on the outside in Dre Kirkpatrick and William Jackson, so expect Matt Ryan to look more towards Sanu and Hooper. Hooper is 7th in end-zone targets among TE’s and is playing in the highest over-under on the main slate. He is cheaper than Will Dissly, Charles Clay, and Austin Sefarian-Jenkins.
Other values: David Njoku (CLE, $3200)
Defense/Special Teams: CHI ($2600)
The Chicago Bears are the highest scoring defense through three weeks, as the addition of Khalil Mack appears to be a real difference-maker. Ryan Fitzpatrick showed last week that the magic is starting to wear off after throwing three interceptions. Even when the Bucs scored 27 points, the Steelers defense was still able to put up 12 fantasy points. Even if the Bucs score a decent amount of points, the Bears will be able to salvage their value with forced fumbles and sacks (both 1st in the NFL).
Other values: DAL ($2400)
