Fun fact: I told my brother to pick up Jameis Winston and play him this past week. I did not, in fact, realize he was playing me. He beat me by 8. Let’s just chalk that up to selfless fantasy advice, eh? Oh well, let’s focus on the present!
Week 7 Streaming Quarterbacks
Jameis Winston (TB)
I’m keeping Jameis Winston right here, folks. I know, he’s playing the Browns. They’ve been fairly tough against QB’s this year, coming in at 4th on the list, right at 14.6 fantasy points per game. That being said, this is a really different Browns team on the road and since Jameis hit the ground running, I have no problem keeping him in your lineups. In fact, from here on out, he’ll only be in this column if he isn’t already owned everywhere. Till then, see ya later, Jameis!
Baker Mayfield (CLE)
Let’s keep it in the same game for now. Baker Mayfield is playing much, much better than his numbers show. This is one of those circumstances where the numbers have to catch up to the play at some point. This is that point. The Browns are playing the Bucs, and unlike Jameis, that’s a very nice matchup for Baker. The Bucs are dead-last in the league against QB’s, giving up a whopping 28.4 points per week to the position. Baker’s good to go this week.
Eli Manning (NYG)
Does anyone else feel legitimately bad for Eli Manning? If this is the end, you have to feel for the guy. He’s been an incredible presence for the Giants for a long time now. Let’s not go throwing any retirement parties quite yet, though. Manning and the Giants are taking on the Falcons this week, in the dome, in Atlanta. The Falcons are 31st against QB’s, giving up 25.7 points a week to the position. I’m okay rolling with Eli this week, especially if Evan Engram is back in the lineup.
Joe Flacco (BAL)
The Ravens are playing 1980’s-style football in 2018. Now, that might seem like a bad thing. But it just works for this team (pretty much always has). Joe Flacco isn’t going to give you crazy numbers every week, but this is a good time to take a shot on him. The Ravens are playing the Saints, who are currently ranked 30th against QB’s, giving up 25.1 points per week to the position. The Saints also have a surprisingly stingy run defense, so the Ravens are going to have to pass. Fire up Flacco, folks.
Mitch Trubisky (CHI)
Mitch Trubisky is crazy erratic. That’s just the truth. We’ve seen his ceiling (6 touchdowns!!), and we’ve seen his floor. This week should trend more toward the former. Da Bears are welcoming the Patriots, folks! After the past few weeks of stellar production, I think it’s safe to say the Patriots are once again the Patriots. (I stashed Josh Gordon, I’m just so happy about it, you guys.) Trubisky is going to have to keep up with Tom Brady, regardless of the talented Bears defense. The Patriots are sitting at 23rd against QB’s, giving up 19.5 points a week to the position. They can be had.
