TE Noah Fant headed to Seattle, paving way for Albert Okwuegbunam to take over TE1 role in Denver.
Fantasy Impact: Fant was set to become a free agent after this coming season, as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract. Albert O, also still on his rookie deal, played 47% of the Broncos snaps in 2021, averaging 10.2 points per 100 snaps, just shy of Fant (10.8). We have not seen Russell Wilson produce an elite fantasy tight end since Jimmy Graham in 2017, but Okwuegbunam will be on the field much more than any Seattle TE over that period. The TE1 is an important player in Denver’s offence, given the reliance on the running game – Noah Fant played 84% of snaps in 2021, and a good portion of the missed snaps were due to injury. Albert O should have plenty of opportunity for fantasy production in 2022, and should be a popular sleeper.
