Washington’s HC Ron Rivera said he is considering rotating QBs Alex Smith and Taylor Heinicke in Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Impact: Smith returned to action in Week 17 after missing the previous two contests due to a calf injury. He played every snap and completed 22-of-32 passes for 162 yards and two interceptions in the season finale against the Eagles. Rivera said they will consider using two quarterbacks. “We have to definitely look at that. The truth of the matter is we play a very aggressive defense this week; it’s something we most certainly have to look at.” Smith reportedly suffered no setbacks with his injured calf, but he might not be a 100 percent. For now, Smith will start Saturday while Heinicke serves as his backup.
