In a recent Sirius XM interview, Bucs’ veteran LB Lavonte David was quoted saying Baker Mayfield is a great locker room presence and “he’s expected to live up to what everybody expected him to be.”
Fantasy Impact: The former Heisman winner and #1 overall draft pick has the pedigree over the incumbent backup to Tom Brady, Kyle Trask. Apparently, he has earned to respect of some of the Tampa Bay veterans, as well. Trask is still very much in the picture, but Mayfield continues to have the inside track on the Week 1 starting role. With the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in the Bucs’ offense whoever starts for the team will have a chance to be a low-end fantasy option, especially in deeper leagues.
