The Seattle Seahawks and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer have parted ways.
Fantasy Impact: “Philosophical differences” were cited as the reason for the split. Seattle has always been a run-first team under head coach Pete Carroll, but the #LetRussCook movement gained steam entering 2020, which led to an MVP performance out of Russell Wilson through the first half. However, turnovers quickly became an issue, and Carroll spoke publicly about his desire to get back to running the ball. The Seahawks’ offense has always seemed to function at its best when plays broke down and things became unscripted. That usually isn’t a good sign. Shane Steichen, the current Chargers’ OC, has been mentioned as a candidate for Seattle’s new opening.
