Chris Godwin doesn’t play in Friday’s preseason contest

Veteran WR Chris Godwin suited up but did not play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Friday night’s preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Impact: Godwin appeared in 15 games in 2022 after entering the season with an injury. Regardless, the 27-year-old wideout had his third 1,000-yard season in the last four years. Godwin was a favorite target of Tom Brady who retired over the offseason. With Baker Mayfield taking over at QB, it stands to be proven how Tampa Bay’s WRs will mesh with the former Browns QB, but the Buccaneers have a pair of talented WRs worth betting on. Godwin was the half-PPR WR17 in 2022 and has an average draft position of half-PPR WR27.
