According to Coty M. Davis of Texans Daily, RB Dameon Pierce has been improving himself as a pass blocker for the Houston Texans.
Fantasy Impact: Pass protection was a glaring weak spot in Pierce’s game that was noted by last year’s head coach Lovie Smith. Now, Pierce is focusing on honing his abilities as a blocker. This would allow Pierce to better become suited to serve a true three-down workload in Houston by protecting rookie QB CJ Stroud. Houston added RB Devin Singletary in the offseason, but if Pierce can find new ways to stay on the field, he could keep Singletary at bay, who is currently better suited to play on third downs.
