Buccaneers offseason acquisition Giovani Bernard has made a positive impact on his new team. According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, “the 29-year-old came as advertised, impressively deciding to attend both voluntary OTAs and Tom Brady’s unofficial workouts as he tries to learn a new offense and new teammates.”
Fantasy Impact: Bernard is on track to have a key role this upcoming season. While he’ll open the year as the No. 3 running back, he’s the best blocker and pass-catcher in Tampa Bay’s backfield. He should handle the third-down role with ease and will allow Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette to catch their breath. Bernard ranks 56th among running backs in the latest expert consensus draft rankings.
