Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who suffered a torn ACL and MCL in Week 11 of his rookie season, is targeting a Week 1 return in 2021. “I’m very optimistic about where I’m at and also where the team’s at,” said last year’s No. 1 pick. “Rehab is going very, very well. Lifting is going very, very well. I’m in great shape. Legs feel good. Knee feels good. … The way I’m feeling right now, I’m very optimistic that I’ll be ready Game 1.”
Fantasy Impact: This is a very promising update from Burrow himself. While Week 1 always seemed like a reasonable goal, it’s good to receive confirmation that the Bengals’ signal-caller is progressing well through rehab. Over 10 starts prior to injury, he completed 264 passes for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions. If Burrow happens to hit a setback and isn’t ready to go for the team’s season opener, Brandon Allen would be in line to start at quarterback.
