The New Orleans Saints placed DE Marcus Davenport on the physically unable to perform list to begin training camp.
Fantasy Impact: Like everyone else placed on the PUP list during training camp, this keeps Davenport from practicing but gives him time to heal before the season begins. If he doesn’t get moved off before the start of the regular season, he will miss a minimum of four weeks. Davenport has been one of the most effective pass rushers on the Saints over the last few seasons and played a career-high 64% of the team’s snaps in 2021. Last season, Davenport earned a career-high nine sacks and 39 tackles in 11 games of actionm=, missing part of the season on injured reserve for the second time in three seasons. If he can stay healthy, the former first-rounder can be an impact player on a strong New Orleans defense. The Saints’ defense is currently being taken on average as the DST4, according to FantasyPros with a higher ceiling if Davenport doesn’t miss the start of the season.
