Marcus Mariota completed 20 of his 33 pass attempts for 215 yards in Atlanta’s Week 1 defeat to New Orleans. He additionally rushed 12 times for 72 yards and a touchdown, while losing a fumble.
Fantasy Impact: Mariota ultimately produced a rock-solid performance in his season debut as a Falcon, throwing for over 200 yards and gaining 72 yards plus a score on the ground. He did cough up a fumble late in the third frame, and nearly did so a second time with under two minutes left in the game. Mariota connected with Kyle Pitts on only two occasions, but demonstrated chemistry with rookie WR Drake London. He should remain a decent QB2 option thanks to his rushing prowess, though will have his work cut out for him against the defending champion Rams for Week 2.
