Patrick Mahomes completed 26-of-49 passes for 270 passing yards and rushed five times for 33 yards in the Chiefs’ 31-9 blowout loss to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
Fantasy Impact: Mahomes was under pressure the entire night, as the Bucs blitzed and had defenders in his face throughout the contest. This was the first game this season where he did not throw a touchdown pass and played through a noticeable limp. Mahomes struggled to hit receivers and was outdueled by the greatest of all-time, Tom Brady. The MVP-candidate will have surgery on his foot after the Super Bowl and should be fine for OTA’s next season. Mahomes’ season ends on a low note, but he remains the best quarterback in the NFL and maintains his status as the number one overall QB in all leagues heading into the 2021-2022 season.
