According to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post, New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley is not present at the start of the Giants’ first day of mandatory minicamp.
Fantasy Impact: Because Barkley hasn’t signed his tender for his franchise tag, he is not technically required to attend mandatory minicamp as he is not under contract. He had already expressed he would not be in attendance as the two sides figure out contract details on a potential long-term deal. Barkley reportedly isn’t ruling out the possibility of a holdout. If he does indeed hold out, the Giants would have to turn toward veteran RB Matt Breida, rookie RB Eric Gray or maybe a veteran free agent.
