Confirming multiple reports from a couple of hours prior to kickoff, Travis Kelce is indeed officially inactive for Week 1 against the Lions on Thursday Night Football.
Fantasy Impact: Kelce reportedly pushed hard to play, but the Chiefs are playing things safe with their star TE. Fellow TE Noah Gray is expected to receive the biggest bump in playing time with Kelce out, but he’s unlikely to step into a Kelce-like workload. WRs Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdez-Scantling should see a boost in snaps and target share, and backup WRs Rashee Rice and Richie James could also see their roles increase. Gray is the TE fantasy managers want to target as an emergency Kelce replacement, but it’s also worth checking waivers for TEs such as Sam LaPorta (also playing Thursday), Juwan Johnson, Dalton Schultz, Gerald Everett, Cole Kmet and Dalton Kincaid.
