Tyreek Hill has been traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft. Hill will also sign a new contract extension that will pay him $120 million over four years with $72.2 million guaranteed, making him the highest paid wide receiver.
Fantasy Impact: This situation heated up quickly after rumors spread this morning that contract extensions talks were stalling. Hill got his wish and will now be the highest paid WR in the league. Hill will now pair with Jaylen Waddle to create arguably the fastest wide receiver tandem ever. Hill should still maintain lower WR1 status, but certainly does not have the same upside without Patrick Mahomes. Waddle, on the other hand, should be an upside WR2 in what could become a high-powered offense while Tua could even push for low-end QB1 status if he can breakout. For Kansas City, newly-signed JuJu Smith-Schuster will have a chance to be a borderline WR1 as the top receiver in the KC offense. Travis Kelce will without a doubt be the top tight end option if no other major moves are made, however, I would expect the Chiefs to make some more signings and potentially use a first-round pick on a receiver.
