Eagles veteran tight end Zach Ertz officially reported for the start of training camp on Tuesday. According to Jeff McLane, “while there was great uncertainty about a return during an offseason in which the veteran tight end was on the market, he will be in uniform tomorrow for Day 1 of camp.” He went on to add that “Game 1 isn’t as definitive.”
Fantasy Impact: Ertz dealt with injuries in 2020 and reportedly didn’t mesh well with Doug Pederson, though it’s possible his frustrations have subsided with a new coaching regime having moved in. The now-30-year-old logged over 2,000 yards and 14 touchdowns between 2018 and 2019 before amassing just 335 yards and one score last season. He currently ranks 26th among tight ends in the latest expert consensus draft rankings and could open the year behind Dallas Goedert if he isn’t cut or traded.
