This isn’t a list of the best players for Week 16, but our FanDuel picks will give you the best bang for your buck.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Weekly Value Picks
Alright, alright, you got me, none of these players actually cost a dollar. What they are is a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank. Again, this is not a list of the best players each week, this is a list of the players that offer the best bang for your buck.
With that being said, these are my FanDuel Week 16 value plays.
QB: Dak Prescott ($7,300, TB @ DAL)
Last week I was in on Dak Prescott as one of my value picks at quarterback and he had his worst game of the year. So I understand there may be skepticism as to why I would have him as my top value at quarterback this week. The fact is that Dak has bounced back very well the week after a poor performance all season long. The previous four times that Prescott scored less than 16 FanDuel points he responded in the following game to score at least 21.7 points for an average of 26.24 points in those games. Hosting the 28th ranked defense also helps his chances of a great bounce back game. The Buccaneers are worst in the league allowing 8.3 yards per attempt and have allowed 30 passing touchdowns this season which is second most, trailing only the Raiders.
Additional Value Pick: Sam Darnold ($6,700, GB @ NYJ) has played very well at home this season, including his 21.62 FanDuel point performance against the Houston Texans one week ago. I expect that trend to continue this week as the Green Bay Packers travel to the Meadowlands this week.
RB: Jamaal Williams ($5,800, GB @ NYJ)
Aaron Jones is now on the IR leaving Jamaal Williams as the lead back in Green Bay. Williams had a very impressive 17.7 FanDuel points against the stout Chicago defense last Sunday. The sledding should prove easier this week as he and the Packers visit the 23rd ranked rush defense of the New York Jets. He should get 15+ touches again making him a great value at $5,800.
RB: Elijah McGuire ($5,700, GB @ NYJ)
Elijah McGuire is averaging 14.2 FanDuel points in the last two games since Isaiah Crowell injured his toe and was subsequently placed on IR. Those two games were against the very solid run defenses of the Bills and Texans. This week he gets to see the 22nd ranked defense of the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are allowing 124 rushing yards per game this season and have also allowed 13 rushing touchdowns. Priced at $5,700, McGuire is poised to give his owners a very high return on their investment.
Additional Value Pick: Kalen Ballage ($5,500 JAC @ MIA) averaged over 10 yards per carry and scored a touchdown on his way to 18.6 FanDuel points after replacing an injured Frank Gore last week. This week the Dolphins host the Jaguars, who have struggled against the run this season.
WR: Alshon Jeffery ($6,300, HOU @ PHI)
Alshon Jeffery had a season high 160 receiving yards while catching all eight of his targets against the Rams on Sunday. He has excellent chemistry with quarterback Nick Foles, going back to their impressive Super Bowl run last year. This week the 26th ranked pass defense of the Houston Texans visits Lincoln Financial Field, providing an enticing matchup for the talented Jeffery. The Texans have allowed opposing number one wide receivers to average 19.5 FanDuel points over the previous four weeks. Jeffery should take full advantage of this matchup and is priced well, making him an excellent choice.
WR: Julian Edelman ($7,000, BUF @ NE)
Julian Edelman has been a consistent producer his entire career. This season is no different as Edelman has scored 12.1 FanDuel points or more in eight of ten game. Edelman was already a favorite target, but now Tom Brady will lean on him a little more since Josh Gordon is out indefinitely. The Patriots host the number one pass defense of the Bills this Sunday but this is a defense that Edelman has already had success against this season to the tune of nine catches for 104 yards in their first matchup. Edelman should again receive a large amount of targets and turn them into a productive fantasy football performance.
Additional Value Pick: Jarvis Landry ($6,300, CIN @ CLE) has been playing well of late and will be facing the league’s worst defense on Sunday. Baker Mayfield threw four touchdowns in their last matchup with the Bengals and he should find Landry often in this one, making for a good day of production for the receiver.
TE: Gerald Everett ($4,800, LAR @ ARI)
Gerald Everett has received a season high seven targets in each of his last two games. The Rams have struggled to score in recent weeks after blazing through much of the season. They face the Arizona Cardinals, who are allowing 26.2 points per game so it is likely that the Rams get back on track in a big way and put up a lot of points again. Everett should get in on that action and produce for FanDuel owners.
Additional Value Pick: Vance McDonald ($5,500 PIT @ NO) has continued his involvement in the Steelers offense throughout the season. The tight end has three touchdowns in his last six outings and will visit the 28th ranked pass defense of the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
DEF: Falcons ($3,400 @ CAR)
The Falcons have produced well for FanDuel owners in recent weeks. The defense has 34 total FanDuel points in the past 3 weeks and now faces a struggling Carolina Panthers offense that is without Cam Newton. Taylor Heinicke will be making the start for the Panthers, which should allow the Falcons to focus most of their attention on Christian McCaffrey and the Panthers running game. The Falcons are a steal this week, invest accordingly.
Additional Value Pick: Cowboys ($3,700 vs TB) The Cowboys defense has played very well this season though it hasn’t always translated to FanDuel points. The turnover prone Buccaneers visit Jerry World this week, making the Cowboys a great play for $3,700.
