FanDuel Week 9 Value Picks: Phillip Lindsay, Mitchell Trubisky and John Brown are among this week’s smart FanDuel plays that won’t break the bank.
The FanDuel Dollar Menu provides you with a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast-food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Week 9 Value Picks
QB: Mitchell Trubisky ($6,500 CHI @ PHI)
Mitchell Trubisky is hearing rumblings of losing his starting job just one season after playing in the Pro Bowl. The entire Bears offense has regressed in the second season under Head Coach Matt Nagy and this week feels like a make-or-break week for them.
Trubisky does have two games with over 20 FanDuel points this season and the Eagles are allowing almost 19 per game to opposing quarterbacks, making this an enticing matchup for him. I think Trubisky will respond with a solid performance, making him worth the very small price that he is carrying.
Additional Value Pick: Philip Rivers ($7,200, GB @ LAC) will likely be trying to keep pace with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Rivers has five multi-touchdown games this season and the Packers allowed Matt Moore to score 18.98 FanDuel points last week. Rivers is a borderline top 10 play this week but is priced 14th in the Sunday main slate.
RB: Derrick Henry ($6,800, TEN @ CAR)
Derrick Henry has either scored a touchdown or rushed for 100 yards in six games this season. Henry is being heavily used each week, as he is averaging right under 20 touches per game. He will be facing the Carolina defense that is allowing the 28th most FanDuel points per game to running backs on the season and just allowed Tevin Coleman to score four touchdowns one week ago. Henry has a high probability of adding to his touchdown total and is priced well this week.
RB: Phillip Lindsay ($6,200, CLE @ DEN)
Phillip Lindsay is sharing much more of the load with Royce Freeman this season than last. Considering the injury to Joe Flacco, the Broncos would like to lean heavily on the running game in addition to mixing in some screens and high percentage throws to running backs. In that scenario, there should be plenty of opportunities for both backs to produce. Pair that with the fact that the Browns are currently the 29th ranked run defense in the league and Lindsay should produce good numbers for a back priced at $6,200, invest accordingly.
Additional Value Pick: Devin Singletary ($6,100, WAS @ BUF) has arguably done more with fewer touches than any other player in the league this season. He is currently averaging a whopping 8.6 yards per carry and has scored double-digit FanDuel points in three of the four games he has been active in. The Bills could develop a big lead in this game and give Singletary some extra touches, meaning the opportunity for big numbers against the league’s 28th ranked run defense.
WR: Tyrell Williams ($6,300, DET @ OAK)
Tyrell Williams returned from injury to catch three passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in week eight. The speedy receiver is now averaging over 15 yards per reception on the year and has scored a touchdown in every game that he has been active in. He will now get to face off against the Detroit Lions and the league’s worst pass defense one week after they allowed four passing touchdowns to Daniel Jones and the Giants. Williams is priced incredibly well for a No. 1 receiver in a great matchup.
WR: John Brown ($6,200, WAS @ BUF)
John Brown has been incredibly consistent this season putting himself in the top 20 in both receptions and yardage amongst all players. He has at least four catches and 50 yards or more in every game this season. The matchup with the Redskins this weekend should provide him plenty of opportunities to put up solid numbers once again. The Redskins are currently the 26th ranked defense in the league and they have allowed 14 receiving touchdowns this season. Brown and the entire Bills offense should be very productive in week nine.
Additional Value Pick: Marvin Jones Jr. ($5,700, DET @ OAK) is priced incredibly low for someone that had 10 catches and four touchdowns in a single game two weeks ago. He and the Lions face the 30th ranked pass defense of the Raiders, making him an attractive value play at $5,700.
TE: Dallas Goedert ($5,000, CHI @ PHI)
Dallas Goedert had more targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns in week eight than fellow tight end Zach Ertz. Over the last three weeks, Goedert has 29.9 FanDuel points while Ertz has 13.2, yet Goedert is $1,000 less this week. The Bears have struggled at times to guard the tight end position this year, allowing 10.3 FanDuel points per game. Goedert is again a solid value play in week nine.
Additional Value Pick: Greg Olson ($5,300 TEN @ CAR) is a top 10 tight end this week though he is priced below other less appealing options (Ricky Seals-Jones is $5,600). The Titans are allowing 10.41 FanDuel points per game to opposing tight ends this season, including 97 yards on six catches to Hunter Henry just two weeks ago.
DEF: Browns ($4,300 @ DEN)
In their last five games, the Browns have played four of the top nine offenses in the league in addition to a trip to play the Patriots in Foxboro last week. This week, things should get a little easier for them as they visit the 26th ranked offense of the Denver Broncos, with a quarterback making his first career start.
The Browns should be able to focus on stopping the Broncos run game early and pressuring the inexperienced quarterback in obvious passing situations. The Broncos have allowed 27 sacks thus far this season and Myles Garrett and the Browns have accumulated 22. I expect a top-five performance from the Browns defense this week, making them a great value at $4,300.
Additional Value Pick: Panthers ($4,000 vs TEN) The Panthers got absolutely embarrassed in week eight as they gave up 51 points to the 49ers, yet here they are on the value menu again. Even with the meltdown last week, the Panthers are averaging 13 FanDuel points per game over the past five weeks and this week they host the 27th ranked offense of the Tennessee Titans. Last week’s poor performance kept their price low this week and they should be hungry to bounce back in a big way.
