Sometimes cutting your losses and moving on is tough — and sometimes its vindication. It’s always nice getting rid of players who are unreliable. As a Jordan Howard owner, I can attest to this notion; although, unlike the players below, I have to rely on Howard to figure it out. *sighs endlessly*
Nevertheless, here are five commonly owned fantasy players to drop in Week 11. If you have these players and are a three-loss team, maybe drop them and stash a playoff defense or two!

Matthew Stafford (QB, DET)
Matthew Stafford has a long track record of being a reliable sleeper every year for fantasy teams. Stafford was in position to have a very relevant season, but that all went into question once we saw the Lions passing game without Golden Tate. Stafford’s QB Rating has been 83 and 74.9 over the last two weeks. This is much different than the average QB Rating of 112 from his previous 6 game stretch. Factor in his matchups for the rest of the year and it only begins to look worse for him and the Lions. Stafford’s schedule is: CAR, CHI, LAR, @ARI, @BUF, MIN and @GB. That is a nightmare for any struggling QB, nevertheless one who lost his security blanket in Tate.
Carlos Hyde (RB, JAX)
Carlos Hyde was a prayer at best for owners. This should be a no brainer because not only is he behind a workhorse in Leonard Fournette, but he also is behind T.J. Yeldon — who remains fantasy relevant even with Fournette. Coming off of a BYE week, Jacksonville had plenty of time to utilize Hyde if they really wanted to. With that in mind, Hyde’s value is solely on Fournette’s health and it showed on Sunday when he only got 3 carries for 5 yards. That means he can be cut because even if Fournette goes down again, Yeldon will be there to take the touches from Hyde.
Jordy Nelson (WR, OAK)
Jordy Nelson’s goose egg this week should have been enough to scare anyone else away. Simply put, you do not want to rely on any pass-catcher on this team NOT named Jared Cook. Further, Oakland is trending toward getting the first pick of the 2019 draft, as Coach Jon Gruden is building his team for the future. Presently that means, Nelson is 3rd or 4th in line for targets on a struggling offense. With his volume being this low, he will not be worth a spot on your bench.
Taylor Gabriel (WR, CHI)
Taylor Gabriel was consistently turning his 5 targets into deep-flex production. His big-play upside was always the attraction, but his Week 10 production left fantasy owners with a big 0. Looking around on the Bears’ offense, Anthony Miller seems to have solidified the WR2 spot. Allen Robinson is healthy and plugged into the offense again. Now you throw in Trey Burton and Tarik Cohen’s production of late and you see why Gabriel has slipped down the ranks. It is very much worth noting that game script has not been on the Chicago WR’s side. But the biggest takeaway is that Gabriel has become a very risky play due to the fact he has lost the floor he used to carry for fantasy owners.
C.J. Uzomah (TE, CIN)
This is tough because the TE position has been a nightmare for fantasy football this year. C.J. Uzomah has been relevant at times and has been a common flier for the BYE weeks, but does he really warrant a consistent spot even if you roster 2 TE’s? No. Over his previous 3 weeks he saw 13 targets and this week he turned 3 catches into 23 yards. Lastly, this offense has big question marks: A.J. Green is sidelined until December and bad QB play aided the problem against New Orleans. TE’s are almost always touchdown dependent but I would continue looking for flier TE’s instead of Uzomah.
