Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb carried the ball 14 times for 46 yards in his team’s preseason win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. Chubb continues to operate as the clear backup to starter Carlos Hyde, seeing just one carry with the first-team offense. The only reason Chubb got into the game that early was to give Hyde a breather after a 33-yard scamper, which allowed Chubb to come in and rip off a 21-yard gain of his own. Chubb is unlikely to make an early-season impact but he still has value in case an injury befalls Hyde. Chubb should play plenty in the Browns’ final preseason game.
