The New England Patriots are getting close to trading for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, according to a source. Gordon wore out his welcome in Cleveland and was believed to be on the verge of relapse from drug and alcohol problems last Saturday before the team decided to trade or release him. However, when he’s right, Gordon remains one of the most talented players in the NFL, so Bill Belichick and the Pats will kick the tires on him. The 27-year-old would certainly be attractive in New England, especially with Julian Edelman missing two more games due to suspension. While his potential ceiling would be higher than in Cleveland, Gordon would still remain a very risky boom/bust fantasy receiver. Back in Cleveland, rookie Antonio Callaway’s stock is on the rise after he scored his first career touchdown in Week 2. If Gordon was already dropped by his previous owner, scoop him up immediately.
