Week 8 has come and gone, so it’s time to figure out what to do with three more fantasy football players heading into Week 9.
Here’s how it goes: Stop is a designation for a player you should keep on your bench who is not yet droppable; Drop is a player who is droppable at this point in the season; Roll is a player you need to keep rolling out in your weekly line up.

Stop
TY Hilton WR (Indianapolis Colts) – It’s obvious that Hilton is not the WR1 we’ve come to expect. It’s not Hilton’s fault, of course, having to deal with a second-year QB Brissett who has been sacked more than any QB in the league. It’s simple: the Colts offensive line just isn’t giving Brissett enough time to get the ball downfield. Hilton’s best attributes are his speed and downfield ability. With the trade deadline passing and Hilton still on the Colts, keep him on your bench.
Drop
Jordan Reed TE (Washington Redskins) – Reeds athletic ability is undeniable. When healthy, Reed is one of the most dynamic TEs in the game. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Reed will ever be able to fight off the injury bug. After a big performance in Week 7 that saw Reed find the pay dirt twice, he followed it up by injuring his hamstring early in the game versus Dallas. Reed is simply droppable at this point. It may be best to avoid Reed all together in fantasy as it seems he can’t be trusted to stay on the field.
Roll
Lamar Miller RB (Houston Texans) — Lamar Miller had a strong performance this past week versus an average Seattle run defense, posting a 21-54-1 stat line along with a 3-21-1 receiving performance. Foreman’s no show puts to rest any talk of Miller being replaced as the workhorse in the backfield. Although Miller is no longer the number 1 option in the Texans offense, with the emergence of Watson and Fuller IV, as well as the resurgence of Hopkins, he is still a strong RB2 option with a heavy guaranteed workload. Miller also has arguably the easiest RB schedule of any fantasy back the rest of the season. Miller finishes his schedule facing 9 defenses who rank 18th or worst. The best run defense Miller will see is arguably Tennessee, which shouldn’t strike fear in anyone. Expect Miller to see more games like this last one with more yards tacked on in the coming weeks.

Last week I suggested two RB’s for your bye week fill in. Dion Lewis saw 15 touches for 44 yards and added another 10 yards receiving. Although Lewis may have not performed as well as I expected, he was still a decent fill-in for the week. For those of you who also read my Sell-High/Buy-Low article, I mentioned adding Marlon Mack, who for some reason is still only owned in 29% of leagues. Mack once again out-touched Frank Gore while also finding the end zone for the third time in his career. With the Colts struggling, expect a lot more of Mack in the coming weeks.
For my streaming option this week, I am going to focus on Vernon Davis. With Reed once again getting injured, look for the pass-happy Redskins to rely on Vernon Davis. Cousins loves going to his TE in the end zone and I expect Davis to see an uptick in usage.
