Per Brooke Pryor of ESPN, WR Chase Claypool suffered a lower body/leg injury during Steelers’ practice and had to be helped off the field as he couldn’t put any weight on the injury.
Fantasy Impact: While it’s still early in the process, this could be a major issue for the Steelers and Claypool if this injury proves to be significant. Claypool will undergo tests but the inability to put weight on the injury is of concern. For fantasy football purposes Claypool was considered a potential WR breakout going into his second season but will now have to be downgraded or at least approached cautiously until more news is known. If Claypool is forced to miss any significant portion of time it would be expected that Diontae Johnson and JuJu-Smith Schuster will shoulder a bigger portion of the receiving work. Check back later for more news surrounding the injury and its impact.
