It is hard to believe that we have made it to week 14 of the NFL season already. This week is an important one as you may be in your first week of playoffs (if your league didn’t adjust to the extra week) or may be still fighting to secure a spot in the playoffs. Either way, we will take a peek at some possible sleeper options that might help you secure a victory this week.
Once again, we will be looking for some guys lower down in the rankings on the week who you might be able to pick up off the waivers or who may be on your bench already. It seems like we’ve had a lot of injuries this year and we still are dealing with bye weeks as well so these sleepers may be someone you might have to rely on to hopefully help contribute to a victory this week.
As mentioned before, I will utilize several factors when exploring who my weekly sleepers will be. I will be looking at ADP (Fantasypros.com ADP), weekly positional rankings (Fantasypros.com ECR), rostership percentages, and some betting info (to help give perspective on possible outcomes). When referencing scoring in these articles this season I will be looking at Half-PPR scoring and in terms of league size, I will stick with 12-team leagues.
Quarterbacks: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 14
Taylor Heinicke (QB, WFT) vs. Dallas Cowboys
Heinicke gets to face off in a divisional game with the Dallas Cowboys. Washington is on a bit of a hot streak after winning their last four games and Heinicke himself has been the QB7 throughout that time. This has included QB12, QB7, QB22, and QB16 finishes. Heinicke currently sits at the ECR QB16 and is a decent streaming option for the week in what should be a competitive matchup with the Cowboys (48-points over/under). He’s likely available on waivers if you’re in need of a streamer this week.
Running Backs: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 14
D’Onta Foreman (RB, TEN) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Foreman and the Titans are coming off a bye, but the last time we saw them take the field Foreman had a decent outing with 19 carries for 107 yards. Currently, Foreman sits as the ECR RB28 on the week and in his last outing finished as the RB25. The Titans are favored by 8.5 points and should be able to handle the Jaguars (who knows this year though), which means that Foreman may see upwards of 15+ touches again. He also likely has some touchdown upside this week as the Titans look to add another one to the win column.
Wide Receivers: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 14
Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR, DET) vs. Denver Broncos
St. Brown has appeared to step up and be a needed option in the passing game in Detroit over the last four weeks. In that time span, St. Brown has been the WR26 averaging 9 half-ppr points a game. He enters week 14 as the ECR WR42. He is coming off a week 13 Detroit victory where he saw 12 targets and caught 10 of them for 86 yards and a touchdown. He was averaging 4.6 targets in the three previous games. It’s tough to rely on a Detroit Lion outside of Swift and Hockenson in the passing game, but if you’re in a desperate spot you could toss St. Brown into your flex and hope he continues to draw more attention from Jared Goff.
Russell Gage (WR, ATL) at Carolina Panthers
Gage enters week 14 as the ECR WR30, but has had a decent stretch of fantasy football production and is currently the WR20 since week 9. He’s coming off a huge week 13 where he caught 11 of his 12 targets for 130 yards. He’s averaged 9.8 half-ppr points in the last five weeks and found the endzone twice. I feel like Gage is in a position to finish the week ahead of his ECR ranking and can likely be a flex play.
Tight Ends: Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 14
Jared Cook (TE, LAC) vs. New York Giants
Cook enters the weeks as the ECR TE13 and the Chargers look to be down a few receiving options this week. Cook has been tough to start at times, but with a likely target bump and the Chargers averaging 281 passing yards a game he’s a decent streaming/sleeper option this week.
