FanDuel Week 4 Value Plays — Case Keenum, Kenny Golladay, and James White are among this week’s smart FanDuel plays that won’t break the bank.
The FanDuel Dollar Menu provides you with a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast-food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Week 4 Value Picks
QB: Case Keenum ($7,200 WAS @ NYG)
Case Keenum looked dreadful on Monday night against the Bears. He threw three interceptions and lost two fumbles yet he still managed 14.58 FanDuel points. Keenum is averaging over 40 attempts per game this year and has completed 71% of them.
He will be facing a New York Giants pass defense that is giving up a league-worst 332 passing yards per game and has only one interception through three games. Keenum will bounce back this week by limiting his turnovers and taking advantage of the poor Giants pass defense.
Note: He did sit out Wednesday’s practice with a foot injury but is expected to start Sunday. If the foot injury is worse than reported and keeps him out, either Colt McCoy or Dwayne Haskins has value as a starter priced at $6,000.
Additional Value Pick: Kyle Allen ($6,800 CAR @ HOU) impressed as the starter in the Panthers week three win over Arizona. He was efficient during the four-touchdown performance and will look to replicate that against the 23rd ranked pass defense of the Texans.
RB: Wayne Gallman Jr. ($5,800, WAS @ NYG)
Wayne Gallman Jr. will likely be a popular pick through all types of fantasy formats this weekend, as is always the case when a superstar goes down and someone has to attempt to fill their shoes.
Gallman has performed reasonably well in his short career but has had limited opportunities this season as Barkley has hoarded almost all of the Giants backfield touches. Gallman has a four yards per carry average through his first three seasons and on Sunday against the Redskins he will see a large workload.
He and fullback Elijhaa Penny are the only two backs currently on the Giants roster, almost guaranteeing Gallman will get a bunch of touches against a defense that is allowing 142 rushing yards per game. He clearly doesn’t have the upside of Barkley but at $5,800, he doesn’t have the high price tag either.
RB: James White ($6,200, NE @ BUF)
James White missed the week three contest due to the birth of his son. He averaged 10.55 FanDuel points in the first two weeks before his absence. The Patriots travel to face a stout Buffalo run defense this week that is currently allowing only 88 yards per game on the ground.
Luckily for White, he does the majority of his work through the air, which is where the Bills can be somewhat vulnerable. The Bills defense allowed Joe Mixon to catch a 33-yard pass and a touchdown on Sunday. I expect White to be active throughout the game, receiving a fair amount of targets, ultimately providing a good return on investment.
Additional Value Pick: Frank Gore ($5,700, NE @ BUF) has two games with 15+ FanDuel points and currently appears to be in line to receive a heavy dose of work again as Devin Singletary is still not practicing. The matchup isn’t great but the price and amount of touches make Gore a good value choice.
WR: Kenny Golladay ($6,700, KC @ DET)
Kenny Golladay followed two good outings up with a very forgettable week three performance. The Lions receiver was only able to catch two of eight targets for 17 yards as they held off the Eagles for a victory.
I expect him to bounce back in a big way when the Chiefs visit Ford Field on Sunday. Golladay has received eight or more targets in each of the first three games and that is likely to continue this week as the Chiefs high scoring offense will likely force the Lions to play keep up. Golladay should be able to take advantage of his opportunities in this matchup, much like D.J. Chark did on his way to scoring 22.6 FanDuel points against this same defense a few weeks ago.
WR: Terry McLaurin ($6,300, WAS @ NYG)
Terry McLaurin has burst onto the scene this year in a way that I don’t think anyone saw coming. The rookie has made the most of his opportunities by catching a touchdown in each of his first three games and posting an average of 17.23 FanDuel points per game during that time.
McLaurin is a speedy receiver that has big-play potential and he is facing the league’s worst pass defense this week. I think Case Keenum will be looking his way often and the matchup bodes well for those that invest in the young receiver this week. $6,300 is a great deal for him this week and I predict that he will outperform many higher-priced receivers.
Additional Value Pick: Tyler Lockett ($6,600, SEA @ ARI) has turned 26 targets into 21 catches, 233 yards, and a touchdown in just the last two games. Russell Wilson has been looking for and finding him often and he has a great matchup against the Cardinals defense this week.
TE: Will Dissly ($5,400, SEA @ ARI)
Much like the other Seattle pass catcher that I just mentioned, Will Dissly has had two very good games in a row. He is getting more targets and doing more with them, as evidenced by his 11 catches, 112 yards, and three touchdowns in two weeks. The Cardinals are currently allowing the most points to tight ends by a large margin and just allowed Greg Olson to post six catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Additional Value Pick: Dawson Knox ($4,700 NE @ BUF) is a somewhat off-the-radar pick but the rookie tight end had a very good game last week and is clearly the Bills best option at the position. He caught three of four targets for 67 yards and a touchdown and added a nine-yard rush. Like my Frank Gore pick earlier, this isn’t about a great matchup, it’s about a great price.
DEF: Rams ($4,300 vs TB)
Tampa Bay has to travel cross country to face a Rams defense that is incredibly talented and is off to a solid start this season. Through three games, they have eight sacks and have forced five turnovers. Jameis Winston has already been sacked 10 times this season and has a propensity for turning it over, making the Rams a solid pick at home for $4,300.
Additional Value Pick: Vikings ($4,000 @ CHI) The Vikings are allowing a little more than 15 points per game and will face a Bears team that only scored 19 combined points in their first two games. The Vikings have 10 sacks and have forced six turnovers and are only $4,000 this week at Chicago.
