What can we expect in Week 11 in fantasy football from some of the game’s top pass-catchers? See how the latest trends with fantasy football targets are having an impact on your players.
RB – Todd Gurley (LA) vs. KC – MON 5:15 PM PT
With the loss of Cooper Kupp (torn ACL), the Rams concentrated passing attack just got even more concentrated. With all eyes on Robert Woods to tack on extra receptions, it’s important to remember who the Rams offense truly funnels through. Todd Gurley has seen 53 targets through ten games (5.3 per game). Surprisingly enough, that’s only three less than Kupp (56). While Woods should indeed see an increase in targets, Gurley will eat into a good chunk of Kupp’s production. Gurley already has 4 receiving touchdowns on the year and is averaging 4 receptions for 40 receiving yards per game. Expect more of the same to come this Monday when the Rams face off against the juggernaut of an offense from Kansas City.
TE – Jared Cook (OAK) at ARI – SUN 1:05 PM PT
Martavis Bryant is out indefinitely with a PCL injury and Jordy Nelson was absent from practice on Wednesday with a bone bruise. With Nelson’s status cloudy, Seth Roberts and Brandon LaFell look to be the Raiders No. 1 and 2 options going into Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. While it’s logical to expect both of them to see an uptick in targets, I’d expect Jared Cook to be the biggest beneficiary of Bryant and Nelson’s absence. Last week, Cook lead the Raiders with 9 targets as Nelson exited the game mid way through. Purely from a volume standpoint, Cook should flourish. However, given the severe deficiencies of the Raiders offense, it’s hard to trust any output coming from his opportunities.

RB – Theo Riddick & Kerryon Johnson (DET) vs. CAR – SUN 10:00 AM PT
The Lions are in a tough spot here. Marvin Jones missed practice on Wednesday with a bone bruise. He’s officially questionable to play for Sunday. If Jones were unable to go, that would free up an already deserted receiving core. The Lions would then be left with T.J Jones and newly acquired Bruce Ellington as No. 2 receiving options. T.J. Jones has been a complete after thought. Even functioning as the No. 3 receiver, he’s seen only 2 targets per game. Ellington was a healthy scratch last week because of his late addition to the team. With Ellington still unfamiliar with the Lions playbook and Stafford being more confident in his RBs, I’d expect him to look to his backfield more so out of necessity. Last week, Theo Riddick and Kerryon Johnson each saw 7 and 6 targets. The Lions-Panthers game has a sneaky 50 point total. Game script aligns for the Lions to be playing from behind. Given the Lions lack of options and likely point deficit, Riddick and Johnson should mold into greater passing roles.
WR – Amari Cooper (DAL) at ATL – SUN 10:00 AM PT
After racking up 8 targets in his Cowboy’s debut, Amari Cooper followed up his positive performance with an additional 10 targets against the Eagles. Holding a 61% catch rate, yielding 12.1 yards per catch, Cooper has already produced somewhat favorably. This week, against an extremely susceptible Falcons secondary, Dak Prescott should look his way often. With Zeke having a premier matchup on the ground, the Cowboys should move the ball with general ease. This should give Prescott enough opportunities to find his number one target.
WR – Corey Davis (TEN) at IND – SUN 10:00 AM PT
Coming off a massive game (7/125/1), Corey Davis looks to keep his momentum rolling as he heads to Indianapolis this weekend. The Colts defense has struggled mightily against the pass this season and Davis’s matchup against Pierre Desir is an encouraging one. Davis’s target share is firmly intact, as evidenced by last week’s game, but with Taywan Taylor expected to miss another week with a foot injury, the consolidation of targets will once again be spread very tightly. Most encouragingly, Davis was targeted several times in the red zone last week. He saw multiple end zone targets and was able to score in a tough matchup against Stephon Gilmore. You have to like Davis’s chances of seeing double digit targets again this week with his positive game environment and favorable team circumstances.
