Can you believe we are nearly halfway through the regular fantasy season? The fantasy playoffs start in seven weeks, and hopefully, you are playoff bound. It is crucial to win as many weeks as possible going forward to set yourself up for success. That starts now with Week 7.
Bye weeks and injuries are taking a toll on many fantasy teams. Therefore you may need some streaming options to get you over the hump in Week 7.
Week 7 streaming quarterbacks
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF)
Garoppolo may not be a streaming candidate much longer. With the addition of Christian McCaffrey, the entire 49ers offense may turn into something truly special. This week he is still on a few waiver wires, and he gets a chance to play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are known for they’re high-flying offense, however, the Chiefs defense is another story. There is a reason each week the Chiefs seem to be in a shootout. Currently, they are ranked 28th against Fantasy Quarterbacks. Garoppolo will have every opportunity to be great this week in a must-throw game against the Chiefs.
Matt Ryan (IND)
“Matty Ice” just may be back. He most certainly should be against the 30th-ranked defense against Fantasy Quarterbacks. Matt Ryan produced 389 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. That may be the spark he needed.
Look for him to have another great week. I personally picked him up to play this week. I’ll be in the trenches with you hoping for a great game this week. It may not be a nearly 400-yard passing game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he throws for over 250 and 2 touchdowns or better.
Jacoby Brissett (CLE)
This is the “pick on the Ravens D/ST” start of the week. The Ravens’ defense is simply not good. They are giving up major points to wide receivers, which in turn means points for the quarterback.
Brissett has played well as the starter, and the weapons around him have produced better than expected. I’d start his receiving options confidently, which in turn means I’d start Brissett confidently to get through this week. This is also an in-division game which means a must-win situation. To beat the Ravens the Browns will need to score points.
Week 7 streaming defenses
Patriots D/ST
Surprisingly I found the Patriots D/ST on two of my waiver wires this week. At the moment they are a “set it and forget it” D/ST. This may be the last time I can recommend them as a streaming option because they should be owned in all leagues. They are currently the 3rd ranked fantasy defense in the league.
This week they get to play the Chicago Bears. The Bears’ offense is simply not good, and it’s no secret at this point. Start the Patriots this week and going forward.
Jets D/ST
When the season began I never would have thought that I would have recommended the Jets D/ST no matter how favorable the matchup is. However, they have actually been a serviceable fantasy D/ST. This week they get a Broncos team who has simply been bad.
There are no ifs, ands, or, buts about it. In addition to simply being bad, Russell Wilson is out this week with a hamstring injury. Brett Rypien is no Russell Wilson. If Russ has been this bad, then expect this to be a very tough game for the Broncos. The Jets should have a field day with this bad and depleted Broncos offense. Start them with confidence.
